Celebrate Miner's Day in Park City
Labor Day isn't celebrated in Park City, but MINER'S DAY is! Fun and funky, the annual Miner’s Day parade down historic Main Street attracts marching bands and community floats as Park City celebrates its mining heritage.
To truly enjoy Park City Miners’ Day with your family and friends, have a plan for parking and transportation. Take advantage of wide open parking at Park City High School with free transportation downtown. Park City Mountain Resort is another great place to park with easy bus access to Main Street, but get there early. You might also consider riding your bike.
Running of the Balls you say? Join the crowd on Park City’s historic Main Street for the Running of the Balls. Patterned after the fabled Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain, the Miners’ Day event is a little safer with yellow golf balls replacing the bulls. Here’s how it works is. Anyone can ‘adopt’ a ball for just $5, or five balls for $20. When the balls are released at the top of Main Street, they are tracked down their route and the first balls through the chute will win their owners’ valuable prizes, such as season ski passes, hotel stays, dinners and many other great donated prizes. There will be dozens of other prizes awarded for close finishers. BUY YOUR BALLS
