Park City summers are filled with festivals and other fun activities, and the moderate dry climate, brilliant blue skies and laid-back atmosphere make this ski resort town an ideal summer vacation destination. Besides the obvious-world-class skiing and snowboarding all winter and spring, there are plenty of great activities going on all year long: athletic events, arts and cultural events, and year-round recreation. Stop by during the famous Park City Arts Festival or Fidelity Investments Park City Jazz Festival. Check out the area's mountain marathon. Catch an independent film or two. Or, if you prefer, enjoy a symphony performance under the stars, live concerts at venues throughout the town, or watch an intimate performance in one of our bars or restaurants. The problem isn't finding something fun to do. The problem is making up your mind what to do first. For more information on Park City Events visit the Chamber website at www.parkcityinfo.com

SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL - January 17-27, 2008
The Sundance Film Festival is an ideal way to acquaint yourself with the world of independent film, whether you are an aspiring writer, actor, director or simply a fan of good cinema. It's a great time to catch a film or a powder day on the slopes. Each year, the Sundance Film Festival programming team reviews thousands of independent films from all across the world. These films span nearly every language known to man, broach any and all topics one could imagine, and represent many different genres -- from animation to indigenous works to cult films. The mission of the Festival programming team is to find features and documentaries that "inspire, challenge, delight, startle, move and thrill" viewers. Thousands of fans and artists alike eagerly greet a lineup of revolutionary and thought-provoking productions. Many of these films eventually make their way into mainstream society, but their bragging rights stem from their claim of independence from big-budget studios.
The Park City Arts Festival, now in its 38th year, is a community-wide celebration of the visual, performing and culinary arts, a street fiesta of the broad range of arts that is a keystone of cultural heritage in the Park City community.
The Festival brings together more than 200 fine artists from across North America: performing artists, musical talent and street entertainment, plus fine foods from vendors, restaurants and fine chefs from throughout the county and state. It features three days of activities and events from a gallery and restaurant stroll to a children's area where young artists can whet their creative appetites.
PARK CITY FOOD AND WINE CLASSIC - July 2008
The Park City Food & Wine Classic offers myriad events, from educational programs that address the parings of food and wine, to the Stroll of Park City Grand Tasting, a walking tour of Main Street with designated wine stops along the way. In addition to adding the Stroll of Park City to the line-up, the festival returns for its kickoff on Thursday at Deer Valley and ends with the signature Toast of Park City Grand Tasting event on Saturday at The Canyons. Other weekend highlights include food and wine seminars, reserve tasting, Steel Chef Culinary Competition, vintner's dinners, live jazz and auctions.
Fidelity Investments Park City Jazz Festival is a major summer event. Each August, artists like George Benson, Stanley Clarke, Bela Fleck, and the Ramsey Lewis Trio have performed at this annual three-day festival dedicated to jazz. Daily workshops and clinics for jazz musicians are held, and the nightly performances feature various kinds of jazz groups and styles.
